Tasting Notes

Terassa loosely translates to “the wonderment of a miracle”, which is exactly what we think of our 2005 vintage! Our skilled vineyard crew handpicked the finest fruit from both of our estate vineyards to help create this classic Bordeaux blend. The Malbec base provides a dark, rich color and texture, while the Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure and ageability. We blended in some Merlot for balance and threw in a little Cabernet Franc to maximize a nice lengthy finish.

Lush blackberries, earth, rose petals, and a toffee toastiness are just some of the aroma’s that greet the nose. Silky dark fruits, lavender, and dried figs party along the palate and make way for smooth smoky layers of tobacco, dark chocolate, and just a hint of crème brulee to finish. Oh yea!

Barrel aging for 24 months in 25% new Hungarian Oak adds a light spice and complexity to this blend, while used and neutral French oak enhances the flavors of cocoa and smoke.

Our 2005 Terassa Reserve pairs beautifully with grilled rosemary garlic crusted lamb chops or your favorite steak, chop,….whatever. This wine SCREAMS for Meat... Your choice!
